Getting Started

How long does it take to transition to a raw diet?
Start by introducing about 10% raw food into their current diet. Monitor their stools carefully. If they stay firm and well-formed, that is your sign to gradually increase the raw portion. Continue adjusting the ratio until their entire meal consists of raw food, moving at a pace that keeps their digestion steady.
How long does Rebel Raw keep in the freezer?
All of our food has a “best by” date printed on the label. In general, it stays fresh for about a year in the freezer.
My cat or dog isn't eating the food, do you have any tips?
You’re not alone. Some pets just need a little extra encouragement when trying something new.
(1) Try lightly searing the food on medium heat for about 5 minutes to release the delicious aromas. (2) Mix a small spoonful of Rebel Raw into their current food. Start by replacing about 5% of the meal, then gradually increase to 10%, then 15%, letting your pet adjust at their own pace. (3) Once they’re comfortably eating cooked Rebel Raw, slowly reduce the cooking time and transition to fully raw.

How long does the food last in the fridge once thawed?
We recommend feeding our food within 2 to 3 days after thawing in the refrigerator.
Thawing time will vary depending on the size of the packs and your refrigerator’s temperature. Smaller packs, like our 6 oz portions, will thaw much faster than larger ones, such as our 32 oz packs.
How much should I feed?
Our feeding guidelines are based on average caloric needs. These recommendations are a starting point for determining how much food to feed. Keep in mind that every dog and cat is different—just like people, each have unique metabolisms and nutritional needs.
Why is my pet drinking less water after switching to raw food?
This is totally normal! Raw food naturally contains a lot more moisture than dry kibble. That means they won’t need to drink as much water between meals.
